Cree announces new performance levels and packaging innovations in high-power color LEDs. Cree delivers the highest performance family of discrete, high-power color LEDs available in its industry-leading XLamp® XP-E package. It is also unveiling the industry’s first multichip color LED with red, green, blue and white chips, the XLamp MC-E color LED.

Innovative Package – XLamp MC-E Color
The first of its kind in the industry, XLamp MC-E color is a unique package design, combining white, red, green, and blue LED chips in a single component. XLamp MC-E can allow better color mixing and shadow reduction in color-based applications, with space between LED die reduced by 94%, compared to XLamp XR color LEDs.

Breakthrough Performance Levels — XLamp XP-E Color
With the industry’s highest performance, the XLamp XP-E color LEDs provide up to 22 percent more flux than the existing XLamp XR color portfolio, with an 80 percent smaller footprint. XLamp XP-E reduces the space between LED die by 75%, compared to XLamp XR color LEDs.
