Cree TrueWhite® Technology is a revolutionary way to generate white light with LEDs. It delivers high efficiency with beautiful light characteristics, while maintaining color consistency over the life of the product.

Cree TrueWhite Technology begins with the highest performing commercially available LEDs. Cree TrueWhite Technology mixes the light from red and unsaturated yellow LEDs to create beautiful, warm, white light. This patented approach enables color management to preserve high color consistency over the life of the product. Cree TrueWhite Technology also enables a CRI of at least 90 while maintaining high luminous efficacy — a no-compromise solution.

Cree EasyWhite® technology solves the problem of LED-to-LED color consistency by delivering pre-mixed LEDs to your color and brightness specifications. It’s as easy as picking a lightbulb.

Available in 2- and 4-step color temperatures, Cree EasyWhite technology can reduce LED-to-LED color variation to within a 2-step or 4-step MacAdam ellipse. EasyWhite 2-step bins match the color consistency delivered by incandescent light bulbs, providing the LED industry’s best color consistency.  Cree EasyWhite components are designed to be used as a single component in an LED design, which better emulates the single-filament appearance of incumbent lighting products. One component to place means simplified design and manufacturing.

Yes, Cree sells drivers that are compatible with LMH2 LED modules and selected XLamp CXA LED Arrays. You can search for Cree drivers as well as third-party drivers that are compatible with LMH2 LED modules and XLamp CXA LED arrays using our Driver Compatibility Tool.

In addition, many Cree Solution Providers offer drivers for LED luminaires.

Cree does not offer direct assistance with initial lighting design. However, Cree Integration Solutions Providers do offer design assistance.

Cree has a comprehensive suite of thermal, electrical, mechanical, photometric and optical tests for LED luminaires.

Cree Solution Providers offer a full range of LED lighting-system solutions and design assistance.

Cree closely controls the distribution of our LM-80 data files as there is concern that the files could end up in the public domain. We only provide our LM-80 data to those customers using our product in their luminaires and are seeking Energy Star approval. To request LM-80 data, please contact your Cree salesperson.

Cree supplies LEDs to many flashlight manufacturers, but Cree does not manufacture or support flashlights.

LEDs, or light–emitting diodes, are semiconductor devices that produce visible light when voltage is applied to them. Compared to traditional light sources, LEDs bring many advantages including higher efficacy, longer lifetime, instant-on, greater optical control, greater design flexibility, is dimmable and contains no mercury. This translates to energy savings, cost savings and environmental sustainability.

EZ LEDs combine highly efficient InGaN materials with Cree's proprietary optical design and wafer-level submount technology to deliver superior value for high-intensity LEDs. The optical design maximizes light extraction efficiency and enables a Lambertian radiation pattern ideal for many applications.

These LEDs excel in a variety of applications you see every day:

With a phosphor coating, MB LEDs can also be used in white-light applications, such as indoor lighting.

Cree's original RT LEDs are available in two lines, the 230 and 290, both of which come in 5 mA and 20 mA versions. The new RT Gen III LEDs are available in three lines, the 200, 260 and 320.

Like all Cree LEDs, RT LEDs combine highly efficient InGaN materials with Cree's proprietary G·SiC® substrate. These LEDs also have a single wire-bond structure.

Cree RT series chips are compatible with most radial and SMT LED assembly processes.

Cree’s XT line of LEDs are ideal for applications where sub-miniaturization and high brightness are required. Such applications include

These LED chips have a geometrically enhanced Epi-down design to maximize light extraction efficiency and die-to-package heat dissipation.

Interviewing

You should dress to impress for interviews, which for most roles and candidates includes professional business attire. We recommend wearing closed toe shoes should you be invited for a facility tour.
It depends on the position for which you have applied. For certain positions, a tour of the facility may be appropriate, but that decision is made by the hiring manager.
(Racine Production)You can expect to get a call for production opportunities in Racine within one to three weeks. That average may vary depending on business need.

(All Other Roles) The timeline for getting called for an interview varies per position and dependent on where your application status is in the hiring process.

As a technology manufacturer, many of our employees work in a cleanroom environment. Otherwise it's a casual dress environment. Our company culture focus is not on what you wear to work, but how you perform in your job function.

There are certain groups of employees that have formed informal interest groups. At this time there is no formal organization of groups or company-wide program.
Cree has full time openings and occasionally will have a part-time role open up.
We have a new formal internship program that is scheduled to start in the summer of 2017.
We do hire new graduates at all educational levels (Associate, Bachelor, Masters, and PhD). Most of our new graduate hiring occurs on the technical side (i.e., engineering type roles). We occasionally have corporate opportunities which are appropriate for new graduates as well.
